Andreas Hoffmann 

 

1982–1989 Ausbildung Masken- und Körpertheaters an der Theaterakademie Aarhus, Dänemark. Studium der Bildhauerei an der Freien Kunstakademie Nürtingen bei Prof. K-H Türk. Studium der Pädagogik an der Hochschule für Sozialwesen Reutlingen. Gaststudium an der Universität der Künste Berlin bei Prof. Shinkichi Tajiri und Rebecca Horn. Seit 1990 freischaffender Künstler und Dozent.

Andreas Hoffmann ist ein interdisziplinärer Künstler und Dozent mit den Schwerpunkten Performance Art, Installation, Video und Fotografie. Seit 1990 arbeitet er international als freischaffender Künstler.

Hoffmanns künstlerische Praxis befasst sich mit dem Menschen im Spannungsfeld von Körper, Natur und seinen sozialen Bezügen. Ausgehend von performativen Untersuchungen des eigenen Körpers entwickelte er Arbeiten, die Performance Art, Skulptur und mediale Verfahren miteinander verbinden.

In jüngerer Zeit liegt der Fokus auf sozialen, medialen und partizipativen Kunstprojekten, die Fragen von Wahrnehmung, Kommunikation sowie gesellschaftlich-politischen Prozessen thematisieren. Seine Arbeiten schaffen Räume für interkulturellen Austausch und kollektive Erfahrung.

Neben seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit unterrichtet Hoffmann Kunst, Performance Art und Theaterpädagogik an Hochschulen in Baden-Württemberg. Darüber hinaus ist er als Kurator, Organisator und künstlerischer Leiter internationaler Ausstellungs- und Festivalformate tätig, darunter die Performance-Art-Festivals Echt Jetzt! und Fields of Vision. Viele seiner internationalen Projekte wurden vom Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa), den Goethe-Instituten und dem Auswärtigen Amt gefördert.

Andreas Hoffmann is an interdisciplinary artist and lecturer whose work focuses on performance art, installation, video, and photography. He has been working internationally as a freelance artist since 1990.

Hoffmann’s artistic practice explores the human being within the field of tension between body, nature, and social relations. Starting from performative investigations of his own body, he developed works that combine performance art, sculpture, and media-based approaches.

In recent years, his focus has shifted toward social, media-based, and participatory art projects that address questions of perception, communication, and socio-political processes. His works create spaces for intercultural exchange and collective experience.

Alongside his artistic practice, Hoffmann teaches art, performance art, and theatre pedagogy at universities in Baden-Württemberg. He also works as a curator, organizer, and artistic director of international exhibition and festival formats, including the performance art festivals Echt Jetzt! and Fields of Vision. Many of his international projects have been supported by the Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa), the Goethe-Institutes, and the German Federal Foreign Office.
