ECHT JETZT! 2022 – Freedom · Rules
Das Festival „ECHT JETZT! 22 – Freedom · Rules“ lud professionelle und nicht-professionelle Künstler*innen dazu ein, sich mit dem Spannungsfeld zwischen Freiheit und Regeln auseinanderzusetzen.
Ausgangspunkt waren die Erfahrungen der vergangenen Jahre: die Einschränkungen durch die Pandemie, die Herausforderungen des Klimawandels, die Stärkung populistischer Bewegungen, die weltweite Ausbreitung autoritärer Strukturen, Krieg in Europa, Militärdiktaturen in Asien sowie die Erosion demokratischer Werte und eine zunehmend polarisierte Diskussionskultur. Diese Entwicklungen markieren eine gesellschaftliche Zuspitzung, die das Festival künstlerisch untersuchte.
Im Fokus standen sowohl individuelle Erfahrungen von Freiheitsbeschränkung als auch die Verantwortung gegenüber einer Gemeinschaft. Thematisiert wurden Fragen der Identifikation mit Werten, der Ablehnung von Normierung sowie das fortwährende Austarieren zwischen persönlicher Selbstentfaltung und allgemein akzeptierten Regeln, die ein gemeinschaftliches Zusammenleben ermöglichen.
Kunst wurde dabei als Raum der Reflexion, der Befragung und der Vision verstanden. Zukünftige Entwürfe und neue Perspektiven waren ausdrücklich erwünscht.

The festival “ECHT JETZT! 22 – Freedom · Rules” invited professional and non-professional artists to explore the tension between freedom and rules.
The project was grounded in the experiences of recent years: restrictions caused by the pandemic, the challenges of climate change, the rise of populism, the global spread of authoritarian structures, war in Europe, military dictatorships in Asia, the erosion of democratic values, and an increasingly polarized culture of debate. These developments mark a growing social escalation, which the festival sought to examine through artistic practice.
The focus lay on individual experiences of limited freedom as well as on responsibility within a community. Questions of identification with values, resistance to standardization, and the continuous balancing of personal self-development and commonly accepted rules necessary for social coexistence were central themes.
Art was understood as a space for reflection, critical inquiry and imagination. Visions and future-oriented perspectives were explicitly welcomed.
